2008... what can I say about 2008. It was cold. It was wet. I was sick most of the month leading up to Halloween. I, for some unknown reason, decided to scrap my Skeleton's Revenge theme and go with Killer Klowns/Evil Circus. Man, what was I thinking... I couldn't use most of my props. Still, while attendance was down, we did still have a lot of fun, and it was quite busy. Our usual 2 minions were joined by a female friend of theirs, and the adult daughter of one of our other neighbors joined in, so we had 4 actors this year.

Here's the video for this year. Thanks to Vicki at SETIFilms.com for the filming and edit

If that one didn't work for you, here is the Youtube version.

for permission to use his uber-spooky Midnight Circus tracks.

I "clowned up" a bunch of things by adding fake noses (painted ping pong balls), or by putting another clown in a prop like my fake trees.

Made a fake meat grinder using a rotisserie motor so the arm went in one side, and hot dogs came out the other, while the clown turned the crank

Sign is made from foamboard, with the letters cut out and LEDs inside

Next year I'm adding a popcorn machine to the stand

No circus clown theme is complete without a drunk clown, right?

My version of the Killer Klown cotton candy cocoons. They actually make hot pink spider webs, who knew?

Hmmmm... this one looks ripe

Better get my straw

The ultimate in cheap-n-easy makeovers... just add the words "Hungry Clown" to the Danger sign on my Monster in a box

One of my unfinished props... still needs a paint job, a giant crank on the side, and sound, but at least the pop-up worked.

The skeletal dog is put on a crank mechanism so it raises and lowers, and the hoop has fake flames that are blown from beneath

I don't think many people noticed the mime face paint... or the beret. Without those, the "Learn the words" and "Real Klowns Only!" signs don't make much sense. :(

One of my made over cemetery fence post toppers

Made over my Frankenbucky with a clown face and sharp nails for teeth. By the time we took pics and video, his nose had fallen off.

And that's pretty much it. Next year, more of the same.
